I'm going to have to blame turkey coma or something on this one, but I actually forgot to play a game this day. Which, technically, means that I won The Game!
For the uninitiated, The Game is a game you can only win by not thinking about it. So you've just lost by reading this. But I lost by writing it, so there's that.
I'm playing a different game (board, card, pen/paper, verbal, drinking, party, arcade, carnival, recess, sport, etc.) every day for a year! Detailed posts will be shared here on the blog. For more consistent (but shorter) posts, check out www.instagram.com/oneyearofgames

Number of Words
(Hey, there are some games it's just hard to take a picture of.)
This is a game derived from Whose Line Is It Anyway? Much like the Questions game I've played with Garrison before. In this game, each person is assigned a number of words, and every sentence they say has to be exactly that number of words: no more, no less. I did four, and Garrison did five.
We agreed that it wasn't quite as fun as the Questions game, but still some good wholesome fun for a Friday afternoon at work.

Alphabet Game (Sentences)
"Alphabet Game" can apply to a lot of different games, so I'm clarifying this one as being about sentences.
But what does that mean?
Can you and a friend (or a group if you dare) start every sentence with the next letter of the alphabet?
Did you notice that that's what I'm doing in this post?
Every letter gets used once, then you can come back around and start again, or end it there.
Frankly, it feels more successful if you just make it all the way through once.
Garrison and I played a couple of times, starting at different letters as a bit of a challenge.
Haha... what fun!
I don't have 26 sentences' worth of things to say about this game, so I'm going to stop here.

Questions
Have you ever heard of the game Questions? Have you seen it played on Whose Line Is It Anyway? Are you telling me that you've never tried responding only in questions?
Would you believe that it was Garrison who suggested we play it today? Are you at all surprised that he won?

Pre-Movie Trivia
Call it a cop-out if you want, but I was sitting in the theater waiting for DCI Prelims (Big, Loud, & Live 14) to start, and realized that it was 6:30, I was going to get out of the theater around 11:30, and I would only have half an hour to play a game before the day was over. Then these trivia questions were rolling between the stills of different shows of the season, and I was inspired.
I didn't do very well, if I'm being honest. I did guess the question in the photo above correctly (spoiler alert: it's C) and I knew the highest score ever achieved (it was 99.65, Blue Devils' "Felliniesque" in 2014). If I remember correctly, I didn't get any of the others right.

The Quiet Game
If you've ever watched kids for more than ten minutes, you know The Quiet Game. It's the game where the first person to talk loses.
Only three of us played: Heather bailed quickly. I lasted an hour but I had to go to the reference desk, and the phone rang. (I had already decided that my customer service was not going to suffer, so anyone who approached the desk was going to lose the game for me.) So Garrison is the champion!
Followup: We also tried to play the "no laughing game" (which, by itself, would not count as a game of the day)... I lasted three minutes. This is not my genre, apparently.
